Story 366 – Spooky

SPOOKY written by Debbie Williamson “Hey Spot, ” said Fawn. “What are we going to do for Halloween this year?” “Gee,” said Spot. “I really don’t know. I haven’t given it much thought.” This is Fawn and Spot’s first Hallowe’en in British Columbia. They just moved here from Ontario about six months ago. “I think we should find a haunted house,” said Fawn. “Maybe we could find a ghost!” “No thanks,” said Spot. “I want no part of that.” “Okay,” said Fawn. “I’m going to find one by myself.” “Have fun,” said Spot. Halloween came and Spot would not go to a haunted house but Fawn was determined. He already knew the house he was going to go to. He had seen the house several times and heard that it was haunted. Fawn went into the house with his flashlight. … Read entire article »

Story 367 – Spooky Becomes Visible

SPOOKY BECOMES VISIBLE written by Debbie Williamson “Fawn,” said Spooky. “Spooky,” said Fawn jumping ten feet in the air. “You’ve got to stop scaring me like that.” “The problem is that you can’t see me coming,” said Spooky. “That is true,” said Fawn. “All I hear is your voice.” Spooky is a ghost that Fawn met on Hallowe’en night. Spooky is invisible and the only way anyone knows he is around is when he speaks and we all know that if someone speaks to us and we can’t see them, we will jump. “You know Spooky,” said Fawn. “You should wear a tshirt. Then, at least we would see you.” “Good idea,” said Spooky. Fawn went into his room and got one of his old tshirts and gave it to Spooky. Spooky put it on and Fawn laughed. There, … Read entire article »

Story 368 – Spooky Gets Scared

SPOOKY GETS SCARED written by Debbie Williamson Over the next few weeks, Spooky spent a lot of time with Fawn and Spot. The three friends seemed to get along very well together. They enjoyed spending time together and were always laughing and joking around. One day, Fawn asked Spooky come into his bedroom with him while he cleaned it up. Spooky saw a huge spider on Fawn’s wall and he freaked. “Get that spider away from me!” screamed Spooky. “I hate spiders.” All Fawn could see was his tshirt, that Spooky was wearing, floating around the room, bouncing from one wall to another. “Spooky,” said Fawn. “Settle down. You are a ghost. There is no way that a spider can hurt you. You are already dead. As a matter of fact, nothing can hurt you.” “Oh yeah,” … Read entire article »

SPOOKY IS SICK written by Debbie Williamson “Spooky,” said Fawn. “You are looking a little pale today.” “Well,” said Spooky. “I’m a ghost, I am supposed to be pale.” “True,” said Fawn. “And I haven’t seen you since last Halloween, however, you seem to be a little paler than what you were last year.” “Oh my!” exclaimed Spooky. “Maybe I’m sick. Quick, Fawn take me to the hospital.” “I can’t take you to the hospital,” said Fawn. “Why not!” exclaimed Spooky angrily. “Some friend you are. Here I am ghostly sick and you won’t take me to the hospital. I don’t get it.” “Think about it,” said Fawn. “Do you think any doctor at the hospital is going to treat you?” “I guess not,” said Spooky. “Now that I think about it, no they definitely won’t treat me. I … Read entire article »

Story 640 – Chair in the Attic

CHAIR IN THE ATTIC written by Debbie Williamson One Halloween evening Spooky, the ghost, was upstairs cleaning the attic. He was trying to find anything to do other than participate in the Halloween festivities that were downstairs. Spooky was a very timid ghost. He was frightened of almost anything. While in the attic, Spooky noticed an old chair sitting in the corner of the attic. He went over to the chair and dusted it off. He knew he recognized the old chair. It was the chair his mother used to sit in. He was surprised at how much dust came off it and the dust made him cough. He was in the midst of a coughing fit when all of a sudden his mother appeared in the old chair. She was sitting there … Read entire article »

Do you want to come trick-or-treating with Spot and I?” “Gee,” said Spooky, who was hiding behind a curtain in his room. “I don’t know if I want to go trick-or-treating.” “Why not?” asked Fawn. “It is fun.” “I don’t want to be the only ghost out on Halloween night,” said Spooky. “You won’t be,” said Fawn. “Why, do you know any other ghosts?” asked Spooky. “Yes,” said Fawn. “Spot and I are going to dress up as ghosts.” “Oh,” said Spooky. “That will be fun. Okay, I will go trick-or-treating.” Halloween night came and Fawn and Spot dressed up in a ghost costume. They went to Spooky’s haunted house and knocked on the door.
