A Pot of Gold

A POT OF GOLD written by Debbie Williamson "Hey Spot!" exclaimed Fawn. "Do you want to go for a walk?" "Sure," said Spot, who was in the kitchen all day baking St. Patrick's Day cookies. "I'd love to get outside for a few hours." "Great," said Fawn, grabbing his spring jacket. "Let's go!" It was a warm day. The sun was shining brightly over the top of the mountain. Fawn and Spot felt good to be outdoors in the fresh, mountain air. "I just finished baking all my St. Patrick's Day cookies," said Spot. "I can't wait to eat them," said Fawn. "I love your St. Patrick's Day cookies." "Well you will have to wait until tonight when Ricky and Jenny come over," said Spot. Fawn noticed something shiny off in the distance. "What is that?" Fawn pointed to the … Read entire article »

Billy Troll’s Lucky Day

BILLY TROLL'S LUCKY DAY written by Debbie Williamson "Good morning," Billy said to a man that was walking up the street, with a shopping bag under his arm. "Well, good morning to you," said the man. "It is a fine day, isn't it?" "Yes," said Billy, noticing something strange, almost mystical about the man. "Are you new around here?" "I just moved into the house up the street," said the man. "You know, the old place on top of the hill." "That old place!" exclaimed Billy. "I've heard that there is supposed to be ghosts living there!" "Not ghosts, leprechauns," said the man. "Leprechauns!" exclaimed Billy. "Yes, leprechauns," said the man. "Wait a minute," said Billy, noticing that the man was dressed in a green suit, with a bright green hat. "You are a leprechaun, aren't you?" "Yes, I am," said … Read entire article »

Lucky Leprechaun

LUCKY LEPRECHAUN I created the Lucky Leprechaun character on December 15, 2005. I wanted a character to help celebrate the Irish descent in me and also a character I could celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with.   Lucky Leprechaun lives in a small village in Ireland with his parents. He comes from the village where all leprechauns come from. St. Patrick’s Day is the most important holiday in this village and each year a huge St. Patrick’s Day celebration takes place. Dancing is a big part of these celebrations and that is good for Lucky Leprechaun because he loves to dance. When Luck Leprechaun is not dancing and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, he spends his spare time collecting pots of gold. His hope and dream is that everyone in the world will someday have a … Read entire article »

Story 297 – Leprechaun

LEPRECHAUN written by Debbie Williamson “Spot,” said Fawn. “It looks like it is going to be a really nice day today. Do you want to go for a walk?” “Sure,” said Spot. “I’d love to.” Fawn and Spot really enjoyed going for walks in the mountains just outside of the Hansen ranch that they lived on in British Columbia, Canada. It had been an unusually mild winter and spring wasn’t that far off. “What is that?” asked Fawn as they started walking up a hill. “What is what?” asked Spot. Fawn pointed to a rock sitting on the side of the road. Spot could see something on the rock but she wasn’t sure what it was. “It almost looks like a little man dressed in green,” said Spot, after getting a closer look. “What is the date today?” asked … Read entire article »

Story 298 – Magical Dust

THE LEPRECHAUN LOST HIS MAGICAL DUST written by Debbie Williamson Sitting on the top of a hillside area in a remote section of Ireland, is a little fellow, a leprechaun. The leprechaun is all dressed in his best green suit and hat and looks quite elegant, as elegant as a leprechaun could like, anyway. It is St. Patrick’s Day and the leprechaun is very excited. Today he is going to be in the St. Patrick’s Day parade and he can hardly wait. Not every leprechaun is invited to be in the parade, only special leprechauns, leprechauns with magic. “Okay,” said the leprechaun to himself. “I just need to sprinkle some magical dust on myself to give myself some good luck.” The leprechaun reached around for his container of magical dust. He could not find it … Read entire article »

ST. PATRICK’S DAY FUN written by Debbie Williamson “Hi Poor Mountain Father,” said Poor Mountain Sister as she was eating her breakfast. “What are you doing up so early?” asked Poor Mountain Father. “It isn’t that early,” said Poor Mountain Sister. “I’ve got to get ready for school.” “School!” exclaimed Poor Mountain Father. “There is no school today!” “What?” asked Poor Mountain Sister, looking up at the calendar. “Yeah,” said Poor Mountain Brother, coming down the stairs. “Today is St. Patrick’s Day!” “Oh yes,” said Poor Mountain Sister. “Today is the day Larry Leprechaun is visiting us. I almost forgot.” “Well,” said Poor Mountain Father. “Since you are both awake now, you may as well get dressed. Story 312 – Little Green Men

LITTLE GREEN MEN written by Debbie Williamson The Poor Mountain Family were outside their log cabin in British Columbia, Canada, when they heard a commotion coming from about a hundred feet from where they were standing. “What was that?” asked Poor Mountain Mother. “I’m not sure,” said Poor Mountain Father. “I think I should go and check it out though.” “Well,” said Poor Mountain Sister, standing right beside her father. “You aren’t leaving me here. I’m coming with you.” “Me too,” said Poor Mountain Mother. “Well so am I,” said Poor Mountain Brother. “I’m not staying here all by myself.” The Poor Mountain Family walked toward the direction of the noise and were totally shocked at what they saw. There, in the middle of a small field stood a group of little green men, singing and dancing. “What on … Read entire article »

Story 432 – Travellin’ Rick Meets Lucky Leprechaun

TRAVELLIN’ RICK MEETS LUCKY LEPRECHAUN written by Debbie Williamson Travellin’ Rick was sitting in the kitchen of his apartment looking at the calendar. He saw that next week was St. Patrick’s Day. “I know what I want to do,” said Travellin’ Rick to himself. “I want to meet a leprechaun for St. Patrick’s Day.” Travellin’ Rick did some research on the internet about leprechauns. Most websites talked about leprechauns being a legend or myth. However, Travellin’ Rick really believed that leprechaun’s existed. “If there are any leprechaun’s in Canada,” he said. “I’m going to find one.” Travellin’ Rick sat down and thought about where a leprechaun would hang out. He thought about it long and hard and after about two hours of sitting and thinking, he knew exactly where he was going to find a leprechaun. The morning … Read entire article »
