HELP
"Fawn," said Spot, standing in Fawn's
bedroom doorway. "What are you doing?"
"I'm giving away my blanket," said Fawn.
"What?" asked Spot. "Why are you giving away your blanket?"
"Did you not see what happened in Asia?" asked Fawn. "First there was an
earthquake and there was a tsunami."
"Yes," said Spot. "I did see that. It is absolutely horrifying. Thousands of
people are dead and thousands more are missing."
"Well," said Fawn. "I wanted to do something for those poor people."
"Oh Fawn," said Spot, with a tear running down the side of her face. "That is a
very unselfish thing to do. I know how much your blanket means to you."
Jenny Hansen had given Fawn a blanket for Christmas the year before. Fawn loved
that blanket very much only because Jenny had given it to him. The reason that
Fawn loved it so much is because Jenny gave him it just before she left home to
go live with her dad. Fawn missed Jenny so much when she left that he would hold
his blanket tight and sit on his bed and cry.
"Well," said Fawn. "I saw this poor little child on the news and he had lost his
whole family. I just thought that my blanket would help him out."
"You know," said Spot. "We all should give a little bit to help out the people
over in Asia."
Spot went into her bedroom and came out with a quilt and a couple of teddy
bears.
"I'm going to go up to the main house," said Fawn. "I'm going to see if the
Hansen's have anything they would like to donate."
"I'm coming too," said Spot.
When Mr. and Mrs. Hansen heard what Fawn and Spot were doing, they were very
impressed with their two cows. They gave Fawn and Spot some cash to donate to
Fawn and Spot's Asia Fund. Ricky, Jenny and Suzie Hansen were home on their
Christmas vacation and they decided that they would help out as well. Pretty
soon, there were people stopping by the Hansen's farm each day bringing in goods
and cash to donate to the people in Asia.
"I'm so proud of you," said Spot, when they saw the last truck load of goods
being sent to the airport. "Look what you have accomplished."
"Yes," said Fawn. "I really feel good about helping those people out."
"You have a lot of good deep down inside of you," said Spot.
