SNOWSTORM

Willie, a three year old donkey, stood outside the barn door at the farm he lived at in Mountain Grove, Ontario.

"Willie, what are you doing outside?" cried Maggie, the oldest and the wisest donkey on the farm. "It is cold outside."

"Yes, Willie," said Nevada, who was a four year old chocolate brown coloured donkey and who was also very beautiful. "What are you doing outside?"

"I'm waiting for the snowstorm to come," said Willie.

"Snowstorm!" exclaimed Maggie. "Willie, have you flipped! The sun is shining and there is not a cloud in the sky."

"Willie is just trying to scare us," said C.C., Maggie's oldest daughter. "He always says that it is going to storm out, and it never does."

"You are right, C.C.," said Maggie. "It is not going to storm. Hey girls, let's say we take the two babies and go outside to play."

"Yes," said Winnie and Dakota at the same time. "Let's go!"

"Wait a minute," said Willie. "You're not taking the children outside when there is a chance it is going to storm! What kind of mothers are you two anyway?"

"Oh come on, Daddy," said Dakota. "We just want to have some fun. Why don't you come with us?"

"Oh yes, Daddy," said Winnie. "Please come with us!"

"I don't think so," said Willie. "I've got other things to do. Unlike you guys, I've got to start thinking about getting myself something to eat. "

"You know, Willie," said Maggie. "For once, it wouldn't hurt you to come with us and have some fun!"

"Yeah, Uncle Willie," said C.C. "Please come with us! We could have a lot of fun."

"Oh alright!" said Willie. "I'll come with you for a little while."

The donkey's had so much fun playing outside that even Willie enjoyed himself. He had forgotten all about the snowstorm that was supposed to be coming.

"Hey Uncle Willie," said C.C. "I bet that I can beat you to the fence!"

"You're on," said Willie.

C.C. started running with all her might. Halfway to the fence, something in the sky caught her eye and she stopped dead in her tracks!

"Uncle Willie was right!" she screamed. "The snowstorm is coming! Get the babies back up to the barn and quick!"

Maggie and Nevada rounded up Winnie and Dakota and ran with them up to the barn as fast as they could. Just as they stepped into the barn, the storm hit full force!

"Oh Willie," said Maggie, with tears in her eyes. "I'm so sorry that I didn't believe you!"

"Me too," said Nevada. "Will you ever forgive us?"

"To tell you the truth," said Willie. "I was just pulling your leg about that storm! I didn't know anything about it!"
