FAWN AND FALL

“Hi Spot,” said Fawn. “What are we going to do today?”

“Hi Fawn,” said Spot, looking up from her newspaper that she was reading. “I don’t think “we” are going to do anything today.”

“Oh,” said Fawn, laughing. “Are you still mad at me?”

“Yes,” said Spot. “I am. You know that I wanted to go to see Daisy today and now Daisy isn’t home.”

Fawn had gone to visit Daisy the day before and he had forgotten to tell Spot that Daisy was going away for the weekend, even though Daisy reminded Fawn right before he left.

“Well,” said Fawn, smiling his sweetest smile ever at Spot. “I’m sorry. I just forgot.”

Spot couldn’t stay mad at Fawn after that and she smiled back at him.

“Was that a smile?” asked Fawn.

“Yes,” said Spot. “It was.”

“Look,” said Fawn. “I got a good idea. Why don’t we go for a walk today? It is really nice outside today and the leaves have turned colour. Why, I bet it would make you feel better.”

“Okay,” said Spot. “That is a good idea.”

The fall colours on the trees took Spot’s breath away, they were that beautiful. Fawn and Spot walked for a good hour, taking in all the colours around them.

“You were right, Fawn,” said Spot a little later that afternoon. “That walk did do me some good and those leaves were just awesome!”

“See I told you,” said Fawn.

“Fawn,” laughed Spot. “You are such a brat!”
