Bad Temper

BAD TEMPER

"Spot," said Fawn, coming into the barn. "I want to go to town. Can you come with me?"

"Fawn," said Spot, looking up from the book she was reading. "I have to study for this test. I can go with you this afternoon but, I can't go with you right now."

"Oh," said Fawn, angrily. "So you just don't want to come with me. I understand. You don't ever want to go anywhere with me anymore. That is fine. I can take a hint."

"Fawn," said Spot, laying her book down. "That just isn't true. I do want to go with you to town. However, you know that I have a lot of studying to do if I want to pass this English course that I am taking at college."

"Yeah," said Fawn, yelling at Spot. "You just don't care. It is okay, I will go to town by myself."

Fawn stormed out of the barn, shutting the door loudly behind him. He started walking up the driveway toward the road when he saw Spot coming out of the barn, walking toward him.

"Look Fawn," said Spot. "I want to come to town with you but I must study. I don't want you to be angry with me and I just wish you had a little more patience because I was almost done my studying and if you had have given me fifteen more minutes I would have been able to go with you."

"Oh no," thought Fawn to himself. "What have I done? How could I have been so mean to Spot. Surely, I can wait for fifteen minutes. I don't want Spot to fail her course just because I have no patience."

"Well," said Spot, with her hands on her hips.

"I'm so sorry," Fawn said. "I can wait fifteen minutes for you to finish your studying."

Fawn waited patiently for Spot to finish her studying and then the two friends went to town for the afternoon. They both had fun in town and their little argument was all forgotten about.

"Look," said Spot, holding up a piece of paper, a few days later. "I passed my course!"
