“Gee,” said Fawn. “Let me guess. It is Easter and Grampy is coming.”
“How did you know that?” asked Spot.
“I was just guessing,” said Fawn. “Is Grampy really coming for Easter?”
“Yes,” said Spot. “He is. I just spoke to Mr. Hansen. He’s getting the spare room ready.”
“Grampy is going to spend the night!” exclaimed Fawn. “Oh this will be the best Easter ever!”
“Grampy is bringing his guitar too!” exclaimed Spot.
“He’s here!” exclaimed Fawn. “Grampy is here!”
“That isn’t Grampy’s car,” said Spot, looking out the window of the barn. “That is Ricky’s jeep!”
“Ricky and Jenny are here too!” exclaimed Fawn. “This is definitely the best Easter ever.”
Ricky and Jenny came into the barn to see their two friends and just shortly after that, Grampy pulled up in the driveway with his little red car.
“Oh look,” said Fawn, watching Grampy take a roasting pan out of his trunk. “Grampy brought a turkey with him!”
“How can you tell it’s a turkey?” asked Spot.
“I can smell it,” laughed Fawn.
Grampy came into the barn and everyone started to drool when they smelled the turkey he was carrying.
“Here,” said Ricky. “I’ll take that from you.”
“No you won’t,” said Fawn. “I will.”
“Just show me to the oven,” laughed Grampy. “I wouldn’t leave my turkey alone with either of you two.”
Spot showed Grampy where the oven was. Mr. and Mrs. Hansen came into the barn with Easter chocolates. Everyone sat and ate chocolates and then they ate the turkey. Afterwards they all listened to Grampy play his guitar. Ricky even got out his electric guitar and played alongside Grampy. They all had a wonderful time together and everyone agreed this was the best Easter ever.
