VALENTINE'S DAY IN THE PRAIRIES

Hello everyone. This is Prairie Pete. You might remember that I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, one of the prairie provinces.

It is Valentine's Day here but we really don't do much to celebrate it. I mean, we will have a nice dinner with our loved ones and possibly share a few little gifts together but that is pretty much it.

This time of the year we are usually snowed in or are in the midst of a cold spell. February in the prairies is usually a pretty nasty month for us. Our hearts are mostly concentrating on getting winter over with so that we can be out in the wide open prairie air, cultivating and plowing our fields. Unfortunately for ranchers, it is really hard for us to stop being ranchers for even one day.
