“Why are you crying?” asked the Easter Bunny, who just happened to arrive at Jen-Jen’s property.
Jen-Jen did not even look up. She did not know it was the Easter Bunny that was talking to her.
“Well,” said Jen-Jen, staring at the ground. “I’ve been a really good girl this year. As a matter of fact, I’ve been a really good girl for many years now and each year the Easter Bunny seems to forget about me. I just don’t get it.”
“Gee,” said the Easter Bunny. “I don’t think the Easter Bunny has forgotten about you at all. As a matter of fact, I know the Easter Bunny hasn’t forgotten about you.”
“How do you know?” asked Jen-Jen, slowly looking up at who she was talking too.
Jen-Jen felt so embarrassed. There, standing not two feet away from her was the Easter Bunny, Easter gifts in hand.
“Gee,” said Jen-Jen. “I’m really sorry. I feel so foolish now.”
The Easter Bunny pat Jen-Jen on her head.
“Don’t worry,” said the Easter Bunny. “I know you are a good girl and I would never forget about you.”
“Thank you,” said Jen-Jen, wiping the tears from her eyes. “But, you are late though aren’t you?”
“Yes,” admitted the Easter Bunny. “I have to admit, I am late. However, there is a reason why I’m late. See, you are the goodest girl in the whole wide world and I kind of wanted to bring you your gifts in person.”
“Really?” asked Jen-Jen, totally shocked.
“Yes really,” answered the Easter Bunny, handing Jen-Jen her Easter gifts.
