SPOOKY IS SICK

“Spooky,” said Fawn. “You are looking a little pale today.”
“Well,” said Spooky. “I’m a ghost, I am supposed to be pale.”
“True,” said Fawn. “And I haven’t seen you since last Halloween, however, you seem to be a little paler than what you were last year.”
“Oh my!” exclaimed Spooky. “Maybe I’m sick. Quick, Fawn take me to the hospital.”
“I can’t take you to the hospital,” said Fawn.
“Why not!” exclaimed Spooky angrily. “Some friend you are. Here I am ghostly sick and you won’t take me to the hospital. I don’t get it.”
“Think about it,” said Fawn. “Do you think any doctor at the hospital is going to treat you?”
“I guess not,” said Spooky. “Now that I think about it, no they definitely won’t treat me. I mean they would have to be able to see me and obviously they can’t. I’m sorry, Fawn. I didn’t mean to snap at you.”
“It is okay,” said Fawn.
“Well,” said Spooky. “If I’m sick, I’ve got to get myself better and quick. Halloween is only a few nights away.”
“Yeah but if you are sick,” said Fawn. “Then you should be resting.”
“Oh Fawn,” cried Spooky. “How can a ghost be sick for Halloween? That is like the most important night of our lives.”
Fawn and Spooky walked out into the kitchen.
“Gee,” said Fawn. “It is kind of funny because out here in the kitchen you look just fine.”
“Really,” said Spooky.
“Yes,” said Fawn. “That is really strange.”
“Wait a minute,” said Spooky. “I just changed the light bulb in the dining room the other day. It is a little dimmer than the one in the kitchen.”
“Ah,” said Fawn. “That makes perfect sense.”
“So you mean I am not even sick,” said Spooky.
“It looks that way,” said Fawn.
“Oh good,” said Spooky. “Now I’ll be able to celebrate Halloween.”
“Yes,” said Fawn. “Yes you will.”
