Batty and the Haunted House

BATTY AND THE HAUNTED HOUSE

Batty was hanging on the ceiling of his cave when he noticed that the sun was starting to go down. It was kind of early in the day, so he started wondering what was up with that.

He took a look out the cave entrance and he saw that it was pretty dark outside. Then he saw something that he had never seen before. He saw a house, an old house, way off in the distance.

Batty flew off towards the house. As he got closer to it, he was starting to get scared and thought that he should turn around and go back to his cave but something kept telling him to keep going.

As Batty neared the walkway to the front door of the house, he figured out why he was scared. The house looked like an old haunted house. There were windows missing huge pieces of glass, the paint was peeling everywhere, some of the floor boards on the front porch were missing and the whole house was eerily dark.

Batty did notice a light shining through one of the windows on the very top floor of the house. Batty flew in the direction of the light and sat on the window ledge for a moment. He was frightened at what he saw in the room and again he wanted to fly away but couldn't.

Batty saw a wicked witch standing in the middle of the room, with a broom in hand. Only, Batty noticed that the witch was not using the broom to fly with, she was using the broom to sweep up all the dust on the floor.

The witch noticed Batty sitting on the window ledge and invited him inside. Batty did not want to go any further. The witch pointed to a dark closet in the corner of the room.

"Why don't you come hang in my closet for a bit?" the witch cackled.

"No," said Batty. "I don't think so. I've got to get home to my cave."

Batty was just going to fly off the window ledge when he noticed someone standing in the far corner of the room.

"Fawn!" exclaimed Batty. "What are you doing here?"

"Well, it is Halloween night so Spot and I thought we'd have a Halloween party in this old house," said Fawn.

"Where is Spot then?" asked Batty.

Spot took off her witch mask.

"Happy Halloween," said Spot, laughing.

Fawn, Spot and Batty had a lot of fun having their Halloween party in the old house until they started to make a little too much noise and received a knock on the door of the room they were in. Fawn opened the door up and a old man stood in the hallway.

"What the dickens are you all doing in my house?" asked the old man, angrily.

"I'm sorry," said Fawn. "My friends and I were having a Halloween party. We didn't know that this house belonged to anyone."

"Well," said the old man, taking off his Halloween mask. "It actually doesn't."

Fawn, Spot and Batty started to laugh when they noticed it was Mr. Hansen under the mask. Just then, a woman dressed up in a clown's outfit walked down the hallway with a tray full of goodies.

"I hope Mrs. Hansen brought extra goodies," said Fawn, following the clown down the hallway.

"That isn't Mrs. Hansen," said Mr. Hansen.

Fawn stopped dead in his tracks in fear.

"It's not," said Fawn.

"No," said the clown, taking off her mask. "It's me Jenny."

"Jenny!" exclaimed Fawn, relieved. "I'm so glad you are here."

Around the corner came a pirate and a princess. The pirate turned out to be Ricky Hansen and the princess was Mrs. Hansen. The Hansen's, Fawn, Spot and Batty had an excellent Halloween together.
