SMILE
written by Debbie Williamson
I sit beside you almost everyday on the train going to work, each morning. I don’t even know your name and yet you always give me a piece of encouragement every time I see you. Your smile.
There are some days I don’t feel like smiling, like the time right after my Mother passed away or the time I was sick with a cold, and yet when you smile at me, I always smile back.
Some people say yawning is contagious. I think smiling is contagious, too.
Smile at a stranger and I’ll bet they’ll smile back. Smile at someone who is feeling low and I’ll bet they’ll smile back. A smile is a small token of love that we can give to others and the best thing is that a smile is free.
