Story 844 – Arrow`s Tree Climbing Adventure

ARROW`S TREE CLIMBING ADVENTURE

“Arrow,” said Mommy, with his harness and leash in her hands. “Do you want to go outside?”

Arrow is an indoor cat but he does like to explore the outdoors. Mommy has put him on a harness since he was a small kitten so he is very used to it. He still doesn’t like it but he knows that without it, he isn’t going anywhere.

Arrow jumped up on Mommy’s bed and waited as patiently as an unpatient cat can. Mommy got the upper section of his harness on him and then Arrow decided he wanted to roll around on the bed and have a play fight while Mommy tried getting the section that goes around his tummy on him. Arrow just hates anyone touching his tummy.

Mommy finally got Arrow’s harness on him, without getting too many scratches or bites from him. Arrow doesn’t scratch all that hard and he hardly bites as well. It is just his way of playing and being silly. Once his harness is on, Mommy puts on her shoes and then grabs Arrow and carries him downstairs where she puts his leash on. Then they go outside.

Once outside, Arrow slinks through the grass and then he’ll fall down and roll over in it. He likes the feel of the cool grass   on his body. When Arrow sees a bug, he will jump in the air and try to catch it. The funny thing is, he forgets or just doesn’t realize he has his leash on. Arrow jumps as far as his leash will let him and then he plops down onto the ground. One time he did this and he still managed to get the bug.

For the longest time, Arrow wouldn’t bother with the trees outside. He would look at them and scratch the bottom of them but he never tried to climb them, until one day. That  one day, Arrow gave Mommy absolutely no warning and started climbing the tree. He was as far as his leash would take him when Mommy realized what was going on.

“Arrow!” exclaimed Mommy, reaching over and plucking Arrow from the side of the tree. “What do you think you are doing?”

Arrow just looked at Mommy, while she set him back on the ground. Now, whenever Arrow goes outside, he will try to climb the tree. However, because he is always on his leash, he doesn’t get too far.
