Warmth

WARMTH written by Debbie Williamson Sitting in front of the fireplace on a cold winter evening, wrapped up in my favourite blanket is my idea of warmth, or soaking in a very warm bathtub for hours on end. Warmth is about all I can stand to think of while I stand outside in the freezing cold, waiting for my bus to come. Naturally my bus is late this morning. I decided that I would go into the coffee shop up the street and have a coffee. Just as I put my hand on the door to the coffee shop, I heard the familiar sound of my bus coming up the street. "Coffee or get to work on time," I said to myself. I knew what the answer to that question was, even before I had … Read entire article »

Story 209 – Help

HELP written by Debbie Williamson “Fawn,” said Spot, standing in Fawn’s bedroom doorway. “What are you doing?” “I’m giving away my blanket,” said Fawn. “What?” asked Spot. “Why are you giving away your blanket?” “Did you not see what happened in Asia?” asked Fawn. “First there was an earthquake and there was a tsunami.” “Yes,” said Spot. “I did see that. It is absolutely horrifying. Story 135 – Fluffy and Misty

FLUFFY AND MISTY written by Debbie Williamson “Misty,” said Fluffy. “I think we should go to the park today.” “Really,” said Misty, a little confused. “I thought you didn’t want to go to the park today.” Misty had asked Fluffy earlier that day to go the park but Fluffy said she definitely didn’t want to go. Fluffy told her it was too hot to go to the park. “Well,” said Fluffy. “It is too hot inside the house and I was thinking that it might be cooler at the park, under those big maple trees.” “Yes,” said Misty. “It should be nice and cool at the park, especially underneath those big trees.” “Well,” said Fluffy. “Let’s go!” “Hey Fluffy,” said Misty, as they were just about to open the front door. ”We should have a picnic lunch at … Read entire article »

Ice and His Blanket

ICE AND HIS BLANKET written by Debbie Williamson Sometimes on a cold, winter day Mommy will curl up on her chair with her favorite fleece blanket. Mommy loved her blanket so much that she even got a blanket for her dog, Ice. Now, the blanket that Ice has is certainly not his favorite blanket by any means. Ice will lay down on his blanket when Mommy or Daddy tell him too and Mommy and Daddy both smile at each other when he does as he is told and lays down on his blanket but, they both know Ice would rather not be on his blanket. You might think that Mommy and Daddy are being mean by making him lie down on his blanket when he doesn't want to, but see, the blanket serves as … Read entire article »
