Story 761 – Halloween Story

HALLOWEEN STORY written by Debbie Williamson I used to love going trick-or-treating as a kid. When I was a kid we usually made homemade costumes. I remember one year my Mother made me a costume from scratch. It was a very pretty costume too. She made me a princess costume. I had a lace shawl and she made a crown out of cardboard and we decorated it with gold paint and fake jewels. Mom even let me have makeup on my face. Mom told me I was a very pretty princess. I remember my sister and I would walk from house to house with our little pillow cases. We usually ended up getting almost a full pillow case each of candy. Sometimes we got candy apples as a treat and cans of pop … Read entire article »

Story 513 – Trust

TRUST written by Debbie Williamson “Dad,” said Lil’ Rebel. “Can I go out with my friends after school tonight?” “No,” said Lil’ Rebel’s father. “Tonight is Halloween night and you were told last week that you are not allowed out on Halloween night.” “But,” said Lil’ Rebel. “We aren’t going trick-or-treating or anything like that.” “And that is why you have your Halloween costume stuck out the side of your backpack?” asked Lil’ Rebel father. “That’s not my costume,” said Lil’ Rebel. “It’s Sally’s.” “Don’t think you can pull the wool over my eyes,” said Lil’ Rebel’s father. “I know that is your costume. Get back to your room. You are not going out.” “But why not?” asked Lil’ Rebel. “It isn’t fair.” “Show me that I can trust you,” said Lil’ Rebel’s father. “And then we’ll see what … Read entire article »

Story 414 – Big Yellow

BIG YELLOW written by Debbie Williamson “Hey Racum!” exclaimed Sly Fox. “How are you today?” “Good,” said Racum. “And you?” “Good,” said Sly Fox. “Want to do something today?” “Sure,” said Racum. “But what?” “Well,” said Sly. “Let’s go find Big Yellow.” “No,” said Racum. “I’m not going to go anywhere near Big Yellow.” “You are scared,” said Sly. “You bet I’m scared,” said Racum. “And so should you.” “I’m not scared,” said Sly. “You think what my dad said to everyone last night is true?” “Absolutely,” said Racum. “I trust your dad one hundred percent and so does everyone in this town. After all, he is the police chief.” “Yes,” said Sly. “But how can there be a big yellow bird that goes around stealing things?” “Well,” said Racum. “Even your dad said it was unbelievable but several animals in the Big … Read entire article »

Story 379 – Halloween Safety

HALLOWEEN SAFETY written by Debbie Williamson I was recently visiting with Old Jack, one Halloween night. Old Jack is a jack-o-lantern from the story Old Jack, on the Bed Tyme Tales website. Old Jack has seen many, many Halloweens and I thought he was the perfect one to visit to get some Halloween safety tips. “So, Safety Kid,” said Old Jack. “Halloween can be a lot of fun but you do have to be very careful. Take for instance myself. I only use the small votive candles inside me but others do use the larger candles. They can be very dangerous if they were knocked over by accident.” “True,” I said, knowing that Old Jack was right. “Votive candles are much safer.” “And talk about safety,” said Old Jack, pointing to a child walking up … Read entire article »

Troll Family’s Halloween

TROLL FAMILY'S HALLOWEEN written by Debbie Williamson  “What are the children going to be for Halloween tonight? asked Troll Daddy, sitting down to eat his breakfast that Troll Mother just put down in front of him. “I’m not sure it is such a good idea that they go trick-or-treating,” said Troll Mother, with a worried look on her face. “I take it by the look on your face, that they still haven’t found that escaped convict,” said Troll Daddy. “No they haven’t,” said Troll Mother. “I don’t understand it,” said Troll Daddy angrily. “He escaped from Troll city jail two weeks ago! Why hasn’t he been found yet?” “Troll City Police have been looking for him day and night,” said Troll Mother. “There is no sign of him.” “Well,” said Troll Daddy. “I hope they find him soon.” “Me … Read entire article »
