Story 692 – Ice Wants A Hug

ICE WANTS A HUG written by Debbie Williamson Ice woke up one morning and he was sad. There was nobody home today because everyone had to go to work and all he wanted was a hug. Both Mommy and Daddy didn’t give Ice his hug that morning because he was sound asleep when they left and they didn’t want to wake him up. They both had to leave earlier than usual. Ice saw Homie, the wrecking yard cat. Homie was looking for food because he was starving. Nobody left any food out for him that morning. “Hey Ice do you any old dog food kicking around?” asked Homie. “I have a bit left,” said Ice. “Hey, if you give me a hug, I’ll let you have my food.” “Sorry,” said Homie. “I’m not that hungry.” “Just a … Read entire article »

Story 646 – Ice

ICE written by Debbie Williamson Ice came to live with us in mid-March. He came at a point in my life when I really needed someone to love and cuddle and just someone that I could pour my heart out to and not worry about him talking back and telling me what I was thinking was wrong. The first day or so of getting Ice, he had a sore paw. We had taken him for a walk across the street and he may have gotten a thorn or cactus prickle in his paw. He limped on it for about a week or so. It is easier for a human to have a sore foot than it is for a dog because a dog has to get up and go outside and do his business … Read entire article »

Story 645 – Kitty

KITTY written by Debbie Williamson Once upon a time, there lived the cutest little kitten ever. She was grey, white and black in colour with specks of orange. Kitty had one problem and one problem only. Kitty has room in her heart for only one person and that one person is me. When Kitty was a baby, she had her afternoon naps with me. I’m pretty sure that is the reason why she has become so attached to me. I swear, that if I ever had to go away for a long period of time, Kitty would be so upset. When we first got Kitty we were living in an apartment. She was our only pet. She loved the idea that she was the only pet, too. She would bounce all over the apartment, … Read entire article »

Story 581 – Puppies in a Basket

PUPPIES IN A BASKET written by Debbie Williamson The weather outside was terrible. Rain, rain and more rain. The river at the back of my property was cresting and was going to soon flood its banks. Each hour the river rose foot by foot. It became time to grab a few possessions and head for dry land. I went into the kitchen of my farm house, which by the way, had water up to my knees. I could hear my dog howling at the top of her lungs from the living room and was going to ignore her for the time being until I remembered why she was howling. She just had a litter of  five puppies about six weeks ago. I went into the living room and saw my dog standing on the … Read entire article »

Story 351 – Puggle

PUGGLE written by Debbie Williamson I am a puggle and I love it. So, you are probably asking yourself, “What is a puggle?” Well, a puggle is a cross between a pug dog and a beagle. I like being a puggle because I know that I am the cutest little doggie that anyone has ever seen. I am a small little dog, so I am easy to take care of. I am not yippy at all. I have a wrinkly-face, which, I must say, is my best feature. I am very lovable and adorable. I don’t lose my temper and I don’t get angry. I will show you how much I love you when you let me sit in your lap for hours on end. I would love to go for walks with you and … Read entire article »

Story 799 – True Love

TRUE LOVE written by Debbie Williamson “Arrow,” said Ice, one morning when he was waking up. “What are you doing?” “I am sleeping,” said Arrow. “What are you doing?” “It is time to get up,” said Ice. “Shhhh,” said Arrow. “Mommy is still sleeping. She had a rough night last night with her back.” “Well,” said Ice. “It is amazing that she gets any sleep at all the way you sleep on her head.” “Mommy loves it when I sleep on her head,” said Arrow. “I bet she would get a better sleep if you didn’t,” said Ice. “After all, you aren’t a little kitten any longer. You have gotten so big in the last little while. It is probably really hard on Mommy for you to sleep on her head the way you do.” Arrow thought about what … Read entire article »

Story 318 – Cowboy Cade

COWBOY CADE written by Debbie Williamson It was a beautiful spring morning back in 1892 in the backwoods of Texas.  Cowboy Cade was sitting on the back porch of his ranch, sipping on a steaming hot cup of coffee, when a noise startled him.  Cowboy Cade rose from his chair slowly and followed in the direction that the noise was coming from.             “Help me!” Cowboy Cade heard.  “Help me!  My dog has fallen into the river.  Someone please help!”             Cowboy Cade, knowing a shortcut to the river, ran as fast as he could go.  In a matter of seconds, he stood beside a little girl, with tears streaming down her face.             “My dog!” the girl cried, pointing to a mass of fur, floating fearfully downstream.  “He fell into the river!”             Cowboy Cade jumped into the fast … Read entire article »

Sparky

SPARKY written by Debbie Williamson “Oh no!” screamed Buddy. “There are more cats in this house!” “Buddy,” said Mommy. “What are you talking about? We have three cats, Baby, Trouble and Sparky. You know that. You must be dreaming.” “Oh, I’m not dreaming!” exclaimed Buddy. “There are more cats in this house. I saw them with my own two eyes.” “Okay, Buddy,” said Mommy. “Enough is enough! Show me where these cats are.” “Come on,” said Buddy, going down stairs. “I’ll show you where they are.” Buddy started down the stairs and to Mommy’s surprise, there was a little grey and black tiger striped kitten on the third step down. Mommy couldn’t believe her eyes. She went to the linen closet and grabbed a clean towel and picked the little baby up in her hand. This little … Read entire article »
