Batty Hurt his Wing

BATTY HURT HIS WING written by Debbie Williamson It was Halloween and Batty was so excited. Halloween was his favourite time of year. He couldn't wait until the trick-or-treaters came to the door of his cave. He loved spooking them. He loved hearing their screams as he flew around just above their heads. He loved how they would fling their arms around. He was always so careful to make sure he was out of arms reach so that he didn't hurt himself, well, almost careful. The first of the children came and knocked on the cave door. Batty went to answer  it and he was so Intrigued and interested in the costumes the young children were wearing that he had forgotten that the door was very heavy and that it would spring closed … Read entire article »

Story 874 – Pumpkin Patch

PUMPKIN PATCH written by Debbie Williamson “We must go to the pumpkin patch to pick out our Halloween pumpkin,” said Poor Mountain Mother. “Halloween is tomorrow.” “We could go right now,” said Poor Mountain Father. “I have nothing planned for this morning.” Poor Mountain Mother grabbed her coat and her and Poor Mountain Father walked down the laneway to their pumpkin patch. They held hands tightly letting each other know that they were still very upset about the fact that someone broke into their home the night before and stole the money that they had set aside to get their bills paid off. “Oh my!” exclaimed Poor Mountain Mother, when she saw the pumpkin patch. “What happened here? What is going on?” The pumpkins in the pumpkin patch were all dancing and singing joyously. “I don’t know,” … Read entire article »

Billy Troll’s Halloween Concert

BILLY TROLL'S HALLOWEEN CONCERT written by Debbie Williamson "Come on Billy," said Dianne Troll, his wife. "It will be fun to dress up for Halloween." "I don't think so," said Billy Troll. "What will my fans think of me?" "Billy," said Dianne. "Your fans will love you dressed up or not." "That is my point," said Billy. "I don't feel I need to dress up for Halloween." "Fine," said Dianne. "But it would make the concert that much more interesting and the Jagged Trolls are going to dress up." "I don't care what the Jagged Trolls do," said Billy. "Now Billy," said Dianne. "I thought Mick was your friend." "I wouldn't exactly call him a friend," said Billy. "He's more like an annoyance." "I think I would even have to agree on that one," said Dianne, thinking back to some … Read entire article »

Story 872 – Missing Vampires

MISSING VAMPIRES written by Debbie Williamson Vamp was walking through the shopping mall, the week before Halloween. He noticed something very disturbing at any of the Halloween shops he had visited. He noticed that not one of the Halloween shops were selling vampire costumes.   “What is up with that?” Vamp asked himself. “What is Halloween without a vampire costume?”   Vamp went up to the store owner of the next shop he saw and spoke to him.   “I don’t know what you are talking about,” said the store owner. “Vampires are just not popular this year. We have had no demand for them at all.”   Vamp would have almost believed what the store owner was telling him, that was until he heard two customers whispering to each other at the back of the store.   “Where are the vampire … Read entire article »

Batty is a bat and unfortunately he does have a tendency to scare little children away. They were the two girls that were scared of Batty last Halloween.   "Hi Sarah and Hazel," said Batty, waving to the two young girls.   "Oh my!" exclaimed Sarah and Hazel, when they saw Batty dressed up as a ghost.   "We know who is really under that costume," said Hazel.   "Yes," said … Read entire article »

GHOSTS, GHOSTS, GHOSTS written by Debbie Williamson “Spooky,” said Fawn. “It is almost Halloween. Story 761 – Halloween Story

HALLOWEEN STORY written by Debbie Williamson I used to love going trick-or-treating as a kid. When I was a kid we usually made homemade costumes. I remember one year my Mother made me a costume from scratch. It was a very pretty costume too. She made me a princess costume. I had a lace shawl and she made a crown out of cardboard and we decorated it with gold paint and fake jewels. Mom even let me have makeup on my face. Mom told me I was a very pretty princess. I remember my sister and I would walk from house to house with our little pillow cases. We usually ended up getting almost a full pillow case each of candy. Sometimes we got candy apples as a treat and cans of pop … Read entire article »

Story 760 – Halloween Horror

HALLOWEEN HORROR written by Debbie Williamson Fawn and Spot were sitting on the front steps of the porch. It was Halloween night and they had just seen the last of the trick-or-treaters go up the laneway. All of a sudden, Fawn saw an orange glow from the field behind him. “Spot,” said Fawn. “Did you see that glow?” “What glow?” asked Spot, getting up to look at the place Fawn was pointing at. “That glow,” said Fawn, seeing it again and pointing toward it so Spot could see it. “That is strange,” said Spot. Fawn and Spot decided they would go see what was flashing. When they got to the general area that they thought the flash was coming from, the flashing stopped. “Very strange,” said Fawn. Fawn and Spot went back up to the barn and this time … Read entire article »

Story 754 – Willow Lane

WILLOW LANE written by Debbie Williamson Fawn and Spot went for a walk on Halloween night. They wanted to watch the trick-or-treaters. They wanted to see all the little children’s costumes. Fawn saw a street just up ahead. “Let’s go down that street,” said Fawn, pointing down the street. Spot took a look down the street Fawn was pointing at. The street was dark and gloomy looking. Spot couldn’t see any trick-or-treaters down the street. “I don’t think so,” said Spot. “It doesn’t look safe.” Spot turned around to see Fawn only to find out he wasn’t beside her any longer. Spot looked up the dreary street and saw Fawn walking half-way up it. “Fawn,” called Spot. “Come back.” It was too late. Fawn could not hear Spot.
