Story 629 – The Date

THE DATE written by Debbie Williamson Hillbilly Bob sat in his car outside the grocery store one sunny afternoon. He saw Sally Johnson walking out carrying a load of groceries in her arms. She saw Hillbilly Bob and waved at him and even smiled. Hillbilly Bob always liked Sally very much. Not only was she pretty, but she was very smart as well. Hillbilly Bob saw his friend, Hank coming around the corner and he clinched his teeth when he saw Hank offer to help Sally with her groceries. He knew that he should have gotten out of his car himself to help her but for some reason he just couldn’t. Hillbilly Bob drove home that evening, sulking. He could have kicked himself a hundred times that night for not helping out Sally. Hank probably … Read entire article »

Story 487 – Hillbilly Bob’s Summer Vacation

HILLBILLY BOB’S SUMMER VACATION written by Debbie Williamson “What are you up to this summer?” asked Hillbilly Bob’s best-friend, Pete. “Well not too much yet,” said Hillbilly Bob. “What do you mean?” asked Pete. “I’m planning on doing some traveling,” said Hillbilly Bob. “All by yourself?” asked Pete. “That seems a little dangerous.” “Maybe,” said Hillbilly Bob. “But I got nobody else to go with.” “I’ll go with you,” said Pete. “I got two weeks vacation coming to me from the gas station.” “Hey,” said Hillbilly Bob. “Okay, that sounds like fun.” A few days later, Hillbilly Bob and Pete hopped in Hillbilly Bob’s pickup truck and away they drove, Hillbilly Bob’s mother, crying at the doorway and Hillbilly Bob’s father, telling his mother to stop crying and that their little boy is old enough to go on vacation. Story 802 – Hillbilly Bob’s Valentine Day

HILLBILLY BOB’S VALENTINE DAY written by Debbie Williamson Hillbilly Bob was sitting in his favourite rocking chair in the living room of his old log cabin, strumming his guitar. He happened to glance over at the calendar that hung on his wall when he noticed today was Valentine’s Day. “I’ve got to get me a sweetheart for Valentine’s Day,” said Hillbilly Bob. Hillbilly Bob got himself all gussied up in his Sunday best. “My,” said his mother. “Don’t you look handsome tonight.” “Thank you Mother,” he said, giving her a kiss on her cheek. “Where’s Pa?” “He’s out at the barn,” said Mother. Hillbilly Bob went down to the barn and asked if he could borrow his Pa’s car. “You got yourself a sweetheart for tonight?” asked his Pa, raising his eyebrows at his son. “No,” said Hillbilly Bob. “But … Read entire article »

Hillbilly Bob

HILLBILLY BOB I came up with the idea of Hillbilly Bob from a trip I took with my parents as a kid. We went through the states of Kentucky and Tennessee. My dad went for a drive way up in the mountains in Tennessee and he told us about the people up there that he met. Click here to read more Hillbilly Bob stories.
