Story 692 – Ice Wants A Hug

ICE WANTS A HUG written by Debbie Williamson Ice woke up one morning and he was sad. There was nobody home today because everyone had to go to work and all he wanted was a hug. Both Mommy and Daddy didn’t give Ice his hug that morning because he was sound asleep when they left and they didn’t want to wake him up. They both had to leave earlier than usual. Ice saw Homie, the wrecking yard cat. Homie was looking for food because he was starving. Nobody left any food out for him that morning. “Hey Ice do you any old dog food kicking around?” asked Homie. “I have a bit left,” said Ice. “Hey, if you give me a hug, I’ll let you have my food.” “Sorry,” said Homie. “I’m not that hungry.” “Just a … Read entire article »

Story 646 – Ice

ICE written by Debbie Williamson Ice came to live with us in mid-March. He came at a point in my life when I really needed someone to love and cuddle and just someone that I could pour my heart out to and not worry about him talking back and telling me what I was thinking was wrong. The first day or so of getting Ice, he had a sore paw. We had taken him for a walk across the street and he may have gotten a thorn or cactus prickle in his paw. He limped on it for about a week or so. It is easier for a human to have a sore foot than it is for a dog because a dog has to get up and go outside and do his business … Read entire article »

Story 799 – True Love

TRUE LOVE written by Debbie Williamson “Arrow,” said Ice, one morning when he was waking up. “What are you doing?” “I am sleeping,” said Arrow. “What are you doing?” “It is time to get up,” said Ice. “Shhhh,” said Arrow. “Mommy is still sleeping. She had a rough night last night with her back.” “Well,” said Ice. “It is amazing that she gets any sleep at all the way you sleep on her head.” “Mommy loves it when I sleep on her head,” said Arrow. “I bet she would get a better sleep if you didn’t,” said Ice. “After all, you aren’t a little kitten any longer. You have gotten so big in the last little while. It is probably really hard on Mommy for you to sleep on her head the way you do.” Arrow thought about what … Read entire article »

Winter Safety

WINTER SAFETY written by Debbie Williamson I was visiting a good friend of mine recently. My friend, Fawn Hansen, is a cow that lives on a ranch in British Columbia, Canada. Now, Fawn likes to have a lot of fun at the ranch, especially during the winter months. However, sometimes the fun he has is not very safe and it could end up hurting him. It is important to practise winter safety. Take for instance the day I was visiting him. It was bitterly cold and Fawn thought that he could just run out onto an ice-covered lake and play. He wasn't going to check the thickness of the ice because he automatically thought he would be safe and he thought he was practising winter safety. I approached Fawn just before he stepped … Read entire article »

Ice Loves Winter

ICE LOVES WINTER written by Debbie Williamson January was a cold, snowy month. Ice seemed to be spending a lot of time indoors and this was not his choice. His owners feared that he would freeze and they did not want anything bad to happen to him because they loved Ice very, very much. Ice was a dog that loved being outdoors. He had lots of fur on him and he hardly felt the cold. That is why every single chance he got he would run through the door to be outside. "Ice, "said Mommy, one day as he bolted out the door. Ice came inside right away. He immediately laid down on his blanket. Ice thought he was in trouble. Ice didn’t notice right away because he was too busy sulking but Mommy had … Read entire article »

Ice and His Blanket

ICE AND HIS BLANKET written by Debbie Williamson Sometimes on a cold, winter day Mommy will curl up on her chair with her favorite fleece blanket. Mommy loved her blanket so much that she even got a blanket for her dog, Ice. Now, the blanket that Ice has is certainly not his favorite blanket by any means. Ice will lay down on his blanket when Mommy or Daddy tell him too and Mommy and Daddy both smile at each other when he does as he is told and lays down on his blanket but, they both know Ice would rather not be on his blanket. You might think that Mommy and Daddy are being mean by making him lie down on his blanket when he doesn't want to, but see, the blanket serves as … Read entire article »

Ice

ICE Ice is my dog in real life and he is the best dog anyone could ever own. Ice came to live with us in March, 2008. He is gentle and so lovable. He is also very handsome with his icy blue eyes. I’ve had lots of dogs in my life but nothing could come close to this one. Ice follows me everywhere I go. If I’m out in the yard, Ice is there. If I’m in the house, Ice is there. Ice loves going for a car ride with me. He will wag his tail and go crazy as soon as I get my coat on, put my boots on or pick up the car keys. The first story I wrote about Ice is “Ice, the Mountain Sheep Investigator”. I have written … Read entire article »

Ice Skating

ICE SKATING written by Debbie Williamson "I want to do something fun today," said Fawn. Fawn had been cooped up in the barn for almost a week now because it had been so bitterly cold outside. "Well," said Spot. "What would you like to do? It is still cold outside so I don't know if you would want to do anything outdoors." "I wouldn't mind getting some fresh air," said Fawn. "If we were dressed properly, we could do something." "True," said Spot. "We could both use some fresh air. We've been stuck inside now for almost a week." "I know," said Fawn. "Let's go ice skating." "Ice skating," said Spot. "You know, that sounds like fun." "Okay," said Fawn, shaking his head. "This is a little weird to me. You think ice skating sounds like fun? Normally you … Read entire article »

Cold Winter Day

COLD WINTER DAY written by Debbie Williamson One cold, January day, Arrow decided he would like to go outside and play. Now, Arrow is a year old kitten and he has only been outside a couple of times and those couple of times is when his Mommy put him on his leash and harness and let him get some fresh air. Also, it was summertime when Mommy let Arrow go outside. Arrow saw the front door was open. He stuck his little nose outside the door. It was cold on his nose so he shook his little nose. Arrow took a deep breath and headed out the door. Arrow's little fur stuck straight up on his back because he was not used to the cold and the cold just hit him like a … Read entire article »
