Story 289 – Fawn’s Miserable Spring

FAWN’S MISERABLE SPRING written by Debbie Williamson “Hey Fawn!” exclaimed Spot, happily. “Why don’t we go outside and play!” “I don’t know, Spot,” said Fawn. “I’m pretty tired right now.” “Tired!” exclaimed Spot. “Fawn, how could you be tired? You slept in until almost noon. Are you feeling alright? You don’t quite look yourself today.” “I guess I’m alright,” said Fawn. “Well, I’m going to go outside and play,” said Spot. “It is such a beautiful spring day. I don’t want to miss out on any sunshine.” “Have fun,” said Fawn, yawning. “See you later,” said Spot. Spot went outside to play. The sun shone through the trees and there was a cool breeze dancing over the hilltops. “I wish Fawn could have came outside with me!” exclaimed Spot, sadly. “It is such a beautiful day.” “Hey Spot!” exclaimed a robin, … Read entire article »

Story 199 – Ouch!

OUCH! written by Debbie Williamson “Fawn, put your hat on,” said Spot, watching her friend leave the barn. “Mr. Hansen said it is cold out today.” “Oh,” said Fawn. “Stop worrying about me. I will be just fine.” “Okay,” said Spot, angry at her friend for not listening to her. “If you get sick, don’t you come crying to me.” “I’m not going to get sick,” said Fawn. “Besides I’m only going up to the Hansen’s house and back.” Fawn stepped outside and the minute he did, he wished he’d listened to Spot. It was very cold outside and the wind was just tearing through his clothing. However, he didn’t want to go back inside because that would mean that Spot would have been right and there was no way that Fawn could ever let Spot … Read entire article »

SLOW-POKE written by Debbie Williamson "Slow-Poke!" yelled his mother. "Come on. "It's time to get ready for school." "Oh Mommy!" exclaimed Slow-Poke. "I'm so tired of putting boots, mittens, hats, snow pants and coats on." "I know," sympathized Mrs. Duck. "I know! However, that doesn't change anything. There is still six feet of snow out there, even though it is now February. Therefore, you still have to wear your winter clothing. Now, hurry up!" Slow-Poke is a little black duck that lives on a farm in Mountain Grove, Ontario. As his name implies, Slow-Poke is a little slower than all his farm friends. There came a knock at the door. "Yes," Mrs. Duck called. "Come on in, Freddy." Without even seeing who was at the door, Mrs. Duck knew it was Freddy Goose. Freddy was Slow-Poke's best … Read entire article »

SPRING FEVER IN JANUARY written by Debbie Williamson      "Hey Fawn," said Spot. "It looks like another cold day outside."      "Yes," said Fawn. "It does. I don't like all this cold weather that we are having."      "Well either do I," said Spot. "However, it is January."      "It is only January!" exclaimed Fawn. I thought it was at least March."      "No silly," said Spot. "It is January. We only celebrated New Years just a week ago."      "It has only been a week," said Fawn. "That seems like months ago."      "It was definitely only a week ago," said Spot. "Whatever made you think it was spring?"      "Wishful thinking I guess," said Fawn sadly.      "Fawn," said Spot. "Spring will be here soon enough and then before you know it summer will be here."      "Yeah," said … Read entire article »
