Story 685 – The Pea Pod’s St. Patrick’s Day

THE PEA POD’S ST. PATRICK’S DAY written by Debbie Williamson “Oh what a pretty green dress,” said Sissy Pea Pod. “What day is it?”  “It is St. Patrick’s Day,” said Mommy Pea Pod. “Everyone dresses up in green and they hope that they will meet up with a little old leprechaun that carries a pot of gold.” “That sounds like fun,” said Sissy Pea Pod. “Oh it is lots of fun,” said Mommy Pea Pod. Daddy Pea Pod came into the room and he took one look at Mommy Pea Pod. “Gee,” said Daddy Pea Pod. “Is it St. Patrick’s Day already?” “Yes,” said Sissy Pea Pod, all excited. The Pea Pods all dressed in their finest green outfits and to their surprise Farmer Ted and Sue were dressed in their finest green outfits too. “Oh I see you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day … Read entire article »

Story 687 – Misplaced Fortune

MISPLACED FORTUNE written by Debbie Williamson Mr. Leprechaun was outside walking in the forest. It was a rather warm day, considering it was the middle of March.   “Look!” Mr. Leprechaun heard from behind him. “I think that is a leprechaun.”   There, in the forest, was a pretty little girl holding onto her mother’s hand. Mr. Leprechaun figured that they must be out enjoying the nice weather.   “It is a leprechaun,” said that mother, after taking a real good look at the little man with the green coat and dark green top-hat.   “I read somewhere that if you see a leprechaun,” said the little girl. “He will give you a pot of gold.”   “Well Darla,” said Mother. “Let’s find out.”   Mother went over to where Mr. Leprechaun was standing. Mr. Leprechaun knew instinctively what the girl’s mother wanted. Mr. … Read entire article »

Story 684 – Kitty and Lucky

KITTY AND LUCKY written by Debbie Williamson Kitty was sitting by the living room window, cleaning her paws after her big meal. She heard something behind her. She pinned her ears back and the fur on her back stood straight up. She quickly turned around and when she was what was behind her, she ran behind the couch. “It is okay Kitty,” said a little green man standing in the middle of the living room. “I’m not going to hurt you.” “Are you sure?” asked Kitty, shaking. “Of course I’m sure,” said the little green man. “I’m Lucky, I’m a leprechaun.” “Lucky,” said Kitty, slowly coming out from behind the couch. “That is a nice name.” Lucky did a little dance and Kitty sat and watched, wagging her tail back and forth. “You are a little different,” said … Read entire article »

Lucky Leprechaun

LUCKY LEPRECHAUN I created the Lucky Leprechaun character on December 15, 2005. I wanted a character to help celebrate the Irish descent in me and also a character I could celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with.   Lucky Leprechaun lives in a small village in Ireland with his parents. He comes from the village where all leprechauns come from. St. Patrick’s Day is the most important holiday in this village and each year a huge St. Patrick’s Day celebration takes place. Dancing is a big part of these celebrations and that is good for Lucky Leprechaun because he loves to dance. When Luck Leprechaun is not dancing and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, he spends his spare time collecting pots of gold. His hope and dream is that everyone in the world will someday have a … Read entire article »

Story 808 – The Poor Leprechaun

THE POOR LEPRECHAUN written by Debbie Williamson Lucky Leprechaun was in his castle getting dressed. It was St. Patrick’s Day and Lucky wanted to look his best, which in Lucky’s opinion, was almost impossible seeing as he was poor. Now, leprechauns are supposed to be rich. They are all supposed to have a big pot of gold. However, when pots of gold are handed out in Lucky’s village, he always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. “Not this year,” said Lucky to himself. “I am not going to miss out on my pot of gold this year.” Lucky, now dressed in his best green clothing, stood in the kitchen, having his morning cup of Irish coffee. He happened to glance at the headlines in the local paper, shocked at what … Read entire article »

Pot of Gold

POT OF GOLD written by Debbie Williamson Back in the early 1900's, there lived an old man called Gus and his donkey, Willie. Gus was a lonely sort of man because he didn't have any family. Gus was a mountain man. He didn't know too much about anything else but he sure knew his mountains. He knew every name of every tree and every name of every animal that lived on his mountain. One day, Gus was low on his luck. He had gambled his life savings away that night before, in the town nearby. "Ah Willie!" exclaimed Gus sadly to Willie, as he loaded his few belongings onto his back. "I've been such a fool, gambling and boozing all my hard earned money away. What could I have been thinking of? Well, old boy, … Read entire article »

Story 297 – Leprechaun

LEPRECHAUN written by Debbie Williamson “Spot,” said Fawn. “It looks like it is going to be a really nice day today. Do you want to go for a walk?” “Sure,” said Spot. “I’d love to.” Fawn and Spot really enjoyed going for walks in the mountains just outside of the Hansen ranch that they lived on in British Columbia, Canada. It had been an unusually mild winter and spring wasn’t that far off. “What is that?” asked Fawn as they started walking up a hill. “What is what?” asked Spot. Fawn pointed to a rock sitting on the side of the road. Spot could see something on the rock but she wasn’t sure what it was. “It almost looks like a little man dressed in green,” said Spot, after getting a closer look. “What is the date today?” asked … Read entire article »
