Travellin’ Rick Talks to Santa

TRAVELLIN' RICK TALKS TO SANTA written by Debbie Williamson Travellin' Rick was sitting on a park bench one warm autumn day. An elderly man was sitting next to him. "I guess you don't know who I am?" asked the man. "No," said Travellin' Rick. "I'm sorry but I don't." "Well," said the man. "That isn't important anyway. What is important is whether you have been good this year." "I have been good," said Travellin' Rick. "I've been so busy working that I haven't had time to get into any trouble." "Glad to hear it," said the man. "It isn't really good to be working all the time though," said Travellin' Rick. "I need a vacation. I'm getting pretty worn out these days." "Gee," said the man, handing Travellin' Rick a business card. "Take this and come visit me." Travellin' Rick … Read entire article »

Grampy’s Little Green Car Helps Santa

GRAMPY'S LITTLE GREEN CAR HELPS SANTA written by Debbie Williamson It was Christmas Eve and Grampy was out driving around in his little green car, doing some last minute Christmas shopping. He was driving out of the parking lot of the shopping mall when he saw a commotion ahead of him. He carefully put on his brakes and came to a stop. Grampy got out of his little green car and walked over to where the commotion was. What he saw made him laugh so hard that he almost cried. What he saw, was Santa Claus and his sleigh stuck in the snow. "What are you laughing about?" asked Santa Claus, when he saw Grampy. "I'm laughing at you," said Grampy, petting the reindeer on the head. "Imagine, Santa Claus getting stuck in the snow. … Read entire article »

Santa is Confused

SANTA IS CONFUSED written by Debbie Williamson One spring day, it turned very cold. In fact, it turned so cold that it snowed. Soon, snow covered the green grass and the new buds that were forming on the trees. Santa Claus was in his castle, way up in the North Pole. Now, if you thought that it was cold down here where we are, then you could imagine how could it was in the North Pole! It was freezing! Santa got up from his bed and looked out the window. "My, look at that!" exclaimed Santa Claus. "It is snowing out! It must be Christmas, again! I'd better get the elves working on those toys, and fast. We haven't much time to waste!" Santa Claus got dressed in his red suit and he went downstairs. He … Read entire article »

My Alien Friend

MY ALIEN FRIEND written by Debbie Williamson I have had so much fun this past few weeks, playing with my new computer that I got for Christmas. I must have been really good last year or maybe Santa is just getting senile. I surfed the net, did some online banking and then decided to check out my email. “Oh look,” I said to myself. “My first email message. I wonder who could have sent me it. Well, there is only one way to find out!” Quickly, I moved the mouse across the screen and clicked on the icon. “Hello there planet Earth!” I read excitedly. “How’s life treating you?” “Weird,” I thought aloud. I quickly started typing in a response. “Hello to you out there, wherever you are,” I typed quickly. “Life here on Earth is great! Where … Read entire article »

Santa’s Reindeer Went Missing

SANTA'S REINDEER WENT MISSING written by Debbie Williamson "Well dear," said Santa Claus, rolling over in his warm, king-sized bed. "It's Christmas Eve." "Yes, it is," said Mrs. Claus. "And a glorious one at that. Look at the beautiful snow that is falling. Oh, I just love this time of the year." "I've got a busy day ahead of me," said Santa cheerfully. "I just love Christmas." Santa got out of bed and took a long, soothing shower. "Mrs. Claus! Mrs. Claus!" Freddy the Elf cried when he saw Mrs. Claus come downstairs for her morning cup of coffee. "Where's Santa?" "Freddy!" exclaimed Mrs. Claus, seeing the look of anguish on her little friend's face. "The reindeer are gone!" screamed Freddy. "No!" gasped Mrs. Claus. "Are you certain of this?" "I just got a call from Tommy, down at the stables. … Read entire article »

Santa Got Stuck in the Chimney

SANTA GOT STUCK IN THE CHIMNEY written by Debbie Williamson It was Christmas Eve. The children had hung their stockings by the fireplace and were all snug in their beds. Sometime during the night, they were visited by a big, jolly, old man dressed in red. You got it, it was Santa Claus! Santa and his bright red toy bag came down the chimney. This was his last stop of the night. First, he filled each stocking with special treats. Then, for each child, he left some gifts. "A new bike for Suzie," said Santa, pulling a beautiful pink bicycle out of his bag. "And, a train set for Billy." By the time Santa was finished his work, he was a little hungry. He spotted a glass of milk and a plate of goodies, sitting on … Read entire article »

Santa Claus Parade

SANTA CLAUS PARADE written by Debbie Williamson November 26, 2005 – Kamloops, BC Santa Claus Parade I was watching the news on television the other night when the announcer talked about the upcoming Santa Claus Parade. Oh, I got so excited! I wanted to see Santa so bad. I had a bone to pick with him and this would be the perfect time to do it. That Saturday morning, I got up early and dressed in layers of warm clothing. Nothing was going to stop me from going to see Santa, nothing at all. I got to the parade very early that day and stood at the edge of the road, waiting and waiting. While I was waiting, I looked around at the downtown streets of Kamloops, BC. There were tons of people at the … Read entire article »

The Missing Christmas Toy

THE MISSING CHRISTMAS TOY written by Debbie Williamson Bobby Brooks was downtown Christmas Eve day with his mother, doing some last minute Christmas shopping. Bobby looked into the window of the department store that they were just passing. He was hoping he'd get a glimpse of the toy that he wanted so badly for Christmas, just one more time. Bobby knew he would never get the toy that he wanted because it was just so expensive but he wanted it so badly. "Bobby!" exclaimed Mother, looking at the ash-stricken face on her son. "What is the matter with you? You look like you have just seen a ghost." "No," said Bobby, sadly. "My toy is gone." "What toy?" asked Mother. "There was a toy in the window that I want so badly for Christmas," said Bobby. … Read entire article »

Travellin’ Rick’s Christmas

TRAVELLIN' RICK'S CHRISTMAS written by Debbie Williamson Hi there, boys and girls! I’m going to tell you about the best Christmas that I have ever had. It was the year 1975. I heard that Santa Claus was sick and wasn’t going to be able to bring any presents to anyone that Christmas and anyone included parents, grandparents and kids. When I heard that, I knew that I had to do something. I knew that I would have to go up to the North Pole and get Santa back to his jolly old self. The very next morning, I boarded a train that was headed to the North Pole. It was a long train ride but I saw some wonderful scenery on my trip. I saw several polar bears and penguins and when I … Read entire article »
