Spring Safety

SPRING SAFETY written by Debbie Williamson Hi everyone! I'm the Safety Kid. I recently went to British Columbia to visit with my friend Mountain Mike. Yes, you guessed right. Mountain Mike lives in the mountains. I wanted to make sure that my friend was safe. From what I could see on my visit with Mountain Mike, things were pretty safe. Mountain Mike knew to stay away from fast flowing waters. He knew it was very dangerous and he knew that the water could sweep him away within seconds. Mountain Mike knew to wear proper safety gear when he went for walks in the forest. He also knew enough to wear the proper clothing. Even though it is spring, the weather in the mountains could change at any second. Mountain weather is very unpredictable. I had … Read entire article »

Story 686 – Think of Spring

THINK OF SPRING written by Debbie Williamson Fawn and Spot were sitting in their barn. They were both bored and also sick of winter. This past winter had been a hard one and they both wished spring was here. “It is the second week of March,” said Fawn, looking out the window. “It doesn’t look like spring is ever coming.” “You know what,” said Spot. ”We should think about nothing but spring.” “What good will that do?” asked Fawn. “A lot of good,” said Spot. “It will help pass the time away until spring does come.” “That is true,” said Fawn. “I am starting to think of spring already.” “Good,” said Spot. “Yes,” said Fawn. “I am thinking of a nice spring breakfast that I should have.” “Is that all you can think of?” said Spot. “Food isn’t going to … Read entire article »

May with No Flowers

MAY WITH NO FLOWERS written by Debbie Williamson "Mommy, when is the sun ever going to shine!" exclaimed five year old, Jamie. "I want to go outside and play." "It's pretty cold out today," said Mommy. "However, I think that you could go outside and play for a little while. You have to dress warmly, though." "Okay," said Jamie. "Do you want to come outside too?" "You know something," Mommy said. "It's been a long time since I've gone outside to play with you. Yes, let's do that." "Oh goodie!" exclaimed Jamie, excitedly. Jamie and Mommy got dressed in their warm, winter clothing. They were on their way out the door, when Mommy spotted the calendar. "Look Jamie," said Mommy. "It's been so cold that we forgot to change the calendar. It's now May." Mommy took her gloves off … Read entire article »

SILLY SNAKE’S MOTHER’S DAY SURPRISE written by Debbie Williamson Silly Snake woke up early on Mother’s Day. Silly Snake hadn’t made the visit into the city for a few years and thought it would be a nice surprise for his mother. Silly Snake walked quickly along the country road. Story 565 – Green Grass

GREEN GRASS written by Debbie Williamson “Hi Spot,” said Fawn, early one spring morning. “What are you up to?” asked Spot, cleaning up the kitchen. “Nothing,” said Fawn. “You are up to something,” said Spot. “It is too early in the morning for you to be out of bed.” “Not really,” said Fawn. “Yes really,” said Spot. “It was 10:00 am yesterday before you rolled out of bed and decided to face the day and right now it isn’t even quite 7:00 am.” “Why is it that you always think I’m up to something?” asked Fawn. “Fawn,” said Spot. “I know you.” “I see,” said Fawn. “Well I’m going out for awhile. I’ll be back in about an hour or so.” “Okay,” said Spot, giving Fawn a funny look. Spot watched Fawn out the kitchen window and surprisingly enough, he wasn’t doing … Read entire article »

Santa is Confused

SANTA IS CONFUSED written by Debbie Williamson One spring day, it turned very cold. In fact, it turned so cold that it snowed. Soon, snow covered the green grass and the new buds that were forming on the trees. Santa Claus was in his castle, way up in the North Pole. Now, if you thought that it was cold down here where we are, then you could imagine how could it was in the North Pole! It was freezing! Santa got up from his bed and looked out the window. "My, look at that!" exclaimed Santa Claus. "It is snowing out! It must be Christmas, again! I'd better get the elves working on those toys, and fast. We haven't much time to waste!" Santa Claus got dressed in his red suit and he went downstairs. He … Read entire article »
